About Sinfully Good Equine
My Story
Hi there, I'm Mikki, your typical life long horse girl. I've been riding horses since I was in pre-school and when I turned 11, my biggest dream came true, I got my first horse, Sinful. We competed in equitation, hunters, hunt seat and western pleasure but when I wanted to go into the jumper ring he said he would rather have more fun riding in our back yard trails rides, so I listened and thats what we did.
In college, I finally got to compete in the jumper ring at WEF and also rode some green horses in their first shows with my amazing trainer. I then moved to NYC to pursue my dream of being a singer-songwriter, while teaching horse-back-riding in the Bronx to make ends meet. My family then moved to NC, and of course Sinful had to come with, so we found an incredible barn in Winston-Salem where he met his best friend Siege an OTTB and started learning Natural Horsemanship.
In between going on tour, playing shows, falling in love and getting married I always had to make time to come see my best friend, Sinful. As he got older and new issues came popping up, I kept making more and more time to come and see him. Which included driving the 10+ hours from NYC to NC at least once a month if not more.
Right before the pandemic, my husband and I decided to move to Winston-Salem, to see what it's like living there for a year, which ended up being two. In that time, I got to immerse myself back into the horse world that I so deeply missed and started working at the barn, Sinful and Siege were at.
When the 2 years were up, we moved back to Brooklyn but during that same time Sinful was diagnosed with EPM. My drives to NC became more frequent and I would stay longer to help my best friend. Thankfully, with the help of the incredible barn manager, vet, farrier and barn staff, Sinful's EPM became manageable.
Yet, I knew something was missing in my husband and I's life. After two years of living in Brooklyn, we decided to go all in on our dream life and bought a farm in Winston-Salem that Sinful could live at. We also adopted his best friend Siege so they could always be together.
Now I was able to better monitor his EPM and saw how the relapses affected him. Scrolling Instagram trying to find answers and ways to help, I saw a horse with this colorful tape and I began researching KT Tape for horses. As I started to tape Sinful I noticed a huge difference in him. Being a very sensitive horse, I wanted something he could handle and compared to other therapies this one worked the best and was actually affordable. I then started taping Siege (who is also in his 30's) and noticed how it helped his mobility. We then added a third to our herd, Pauley, who is a 6 year old Canadian Sport Horse. Pauley came to us with a bit of a sore back and suspensory lameness and the tape helped him as well.
I decided to get certified so I could help more horses feel Sinfully Good, just as it does for Sinful and his brothers.
